Welcome to the website of the parish church of St James the Great, Leigh on Sea. St James's is a Church of England parish in the Diocese of Chelmsford, under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Richborough. We welcome anyone who wishes to worship with us and to be part of our parish community, whatever their tradition.
We are the parish church on the corner of Elmsleigh Drive and Blenheim Chase and look to provide spiritual and pastoral care for those who live within our parish. We also provide a wider home, care and welcome for those who wish to worship with us from outside the parish. If you want to know whether you live in our parish click the “find us” tab.
At the centre of all we do is the following of Jesus’ command, “do this in remembrance of me”. The Mass, celebrated daily, is at the heart of all we do. The Sacraments of Baptism, Marriage, and the ministry of Funerals form an important part of our parochial life.
Please feel free to contact if you have any enquiries or if we can help in any way.

We welcome you to the Parish of Saint Margaret of Antioch Leigh-on-Sea where in 2019 we shall celebrate 100 years of serving West Leigh. The Rev'd Fr.David Wylie RN has been parish priest since November 2017.
At St.Margaret's we are orthodox and traditional in our belief and practice as a parish church in the Church of England for the whole community. This essentially means that we welcome all people who live, work and pass through our parish and we would seek to serve them regardless of age gender denomination faith background or none. We are not perfect but try our best to honour God with the resources we have and you are welcome to help us be a little better.
All details of our Activities, Services, Life Events (Christenings/Baptisms, Confirmation Classes, Weddings and Funerals) and much more are available on our website
